Omaha Temple

Right next to the Omaha Temple sits the Pioneer Cemetary.  It is a large cemetary with very few headstones.  As the wintering Saints had many illnesses, many died, especially the children.  They were buried but no headstones were placed.  But the plots were carefully laid out so there are excellent records of the names and family relationships.  Later, for awhile after the Saints left, others moved in and used the cemetary for only a short while.  They were able to erect headstones for their dead.
